Luther Crest Statement of Goals
The goal of Luther Crest Bible Camp is for each participant to grow in his/her understanding, appreciation and knowledge of: God, Others, Self and Creation.

Specific objectives in terms of summer camper development include but are not limited to the following:

- Creating “places apart” where guests can see Christ.
- Bible studies that are applied to our guests’ lives.
- Worship and music that teaches and inspires.
- A place for safe dialogue and exploration of faith and faith-related issues.
- Programming that is Christ-centered and applicable to the lives of the participants.
- A caring and accepting community that encourages growth.
- Well-managed facilities that are inviting to guests.
- Highly-trained counselors and retreat hosts who serve as mentors in inviting Christ into participants’ lives.
- Outdoor activities and cooperative games that inspire contagious enthusiasm.
- Empowering others to become leaders.
- Partnering with congregations.
- Enjoyment of and responsibility for God’s creation.
- Hands-on mission projects to discover and live God’s mission.
- Self-assessment and feedback of gifts, abilities and strengths.
- Promoting healing and wholeness in our people and world.
Specific objectives in terms of summer camper development include but are not limited to the following:
- Articulate a minimum of five new Biblical insights which give relevance to the Christian faith in daily living.
- Learn at least three camp songs which witness to faith in Jesus Christ.
- Participate in at least three activities which provide opportunity for witnessing the gospel of Christ.
- Identify no less than three experiences which allow the camper to care for or be cared for by another camper.
- Construct or find two objects, acknowledged as one’s own.
- Participate in a minimum of three individual or group activities which enhance a feeling of self-worth.
- Participate in a recreational activity of a non-competitive nature.
- Plan and carry out with other campers a project which contributes to the fun and enjoyment of other community members.
- Identify at least 3 specific ways to care for the environment.
- Prepare at least one meal over an open flame.
- Identify 3 new camping insights on skills learned at camp.
