The
Luther Crest Bible Camp Board of Director is pleased to announce
that David Holtz has been called to be our next Executive Director.
Dave was installed at the Luther Crest Bible Camp Association Annual
Meeting on Sunday, February 10, 2008, and will officially begin with
Luther Crest early March.
Born and raised in Bettendorf, Iowa, he
earned his BA from Luther College in Decorah, IA and MA in Christian
Education from Luther Seminary in St. Paul Minnesota. Dave has
served the ELCA as the Development Director and Site Director for
Lake Wapogasset Lutheran Bible Camp, Inc, Program Director at
Lutherdale Bible Camp in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Youth and Family
Minister at Sugar Creek Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, and as summer
staff and camper back to second grade at Camp Shalom, in Maquoketa,
Iowa.
Dave and his wife Nicole have been
married for eight years and have three children, Maddie, Jack and
Logan. Nicole and Dave met while working together at Lutherdale
Bible Camp and the three kids thoroughly enjoy being a part of bible
camping, looking forward especially, to a “new camp” as Maddie says.
Nicole is a teacher of early childhood special education and
elementary education. She has been staying home with the kids
since Maddie arrived and is looking forward to teaching again in a
few years.
Luther Crest has a rich history of
committed congregations, alumni staff and campers around the upper
Midwest. “I am truly excited to be a part of this ministry and
to assist in Luther Crest’s new identity as an outdoor ministry site
in northwest Minnesota. Luther Crest is poised to continue its
service to the Alexandria and Morris, Minnesota communities, our
member and non-member congregations and schools, as we continue to
live out our call and mission for Christ.” |
