Campers will learn techniques from local anglers and have plenty of time for fishing on the Alexandria Chain of Lakes. Bring a fishing pole, tackle box, and a whole lot of patience. This week is designed for developing a better understanding of the "game" of football, getting in shape and fundamental skill development --- PASS, CATCH, THROW, KICK, HIKE, BLOCK. Tons of football fun combined with teambuilding and hard work in a great indoor and outdoor setting. Limited to 24 campers. July 11-16 Cost: $365 Hi-Can-Bike (Grade 4-6)4-6 Graders, this outdoor adventure program is just for you!!! It's a week-long triathlon of service and faith designed for younger youth, plus fun and wacky worships and bible talks on the go. One portion of the trip involves HIKING and camping at the Lake Carlos State Park, the next leg involves CANOEING on the Alexandria Chain-of-Lakes and camping out at local campsites, and the final leg of the trip involves BIKING on the great Bike Trails connecting Alexandria with several nearby towns and camping out at nearby churches!!! You provide your own bike for the bike portion of the trip. Cost includes park fees and fuel expenses. Luther Crest is partnering with Voyageurs Lutheran Ministries to offer you 28 years of experience and one of the best Hockey Camp programs in the state of Minnesota!!! Sponsored by Camp Hiawatha and the coaching staff of Gustavus Adolphus College, there isn't any other hockey camp around that has its base at a church camp. We have well-known, respected college coaches for on the ice and caring, trained Luther Crest counselors for off the ice. Camp Hiawatha boasts 80 acres of trees, a sandy beach, two tennis courts, a sauna, a low ropes challenge course, and open space for all sorts of great camping activities. The camp is located 15 miles north of Grand Rapids on beautiful Deer Lake and Luther Crest will be providing transportation to and from the camp. August 8-13 Cost: $365 S.C.U.B.A. (Grade 9-Age 25) NEW!!! (CANCELED FOR 2010)Bringing God's underwater wonders into campers' lives!!! That's right!!! S.C.U.B.A has come to Luther Crest and we are excited to offer this high quality, yet economical program for youth and adults. We are partnering with Divers Clubhouse in Alexandria www.diversclubhouse.com. They have a full service dive store, two PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instruction) Master Scuba Diver Training Instructors, Jeff Bosek and Brian Johnson. They are also certified Equipment Technicians, so the equipment is always well maintained as safety is a top priority! Best of all, they are located only minutes from camp which gives us flexibility that other programs could not provide. Lodging and classroom will be located in the Adult Retreat Center with quality, hotel-style accommodations and hospitality for youth and adults alike. The eLearning program starts before camp, and must be completed before the first day of camp. The camp program requires five days of instruction, about four hours each day.
