The Life of a College Intern

Hi, I’m Phil Lashinski.  I’m an intern at Luther Crest Bible Camp.  This is my blog…

It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas…

Well, it is a winter wonderland here at Luther Crest… on April 11th.  So that’s fun.

It’s been a busy week here.  On Wednesday, Voyager Elementary came for environmental education classes, and New Testament School came here for the same thing.  It was fun leading team play activities and the Game Turtle Hurtles.  Both groups were great!  This weekend we will be hosting three groups coming in: Beginning Experience, Lutheran Student Movement,  and a personal retreat.

In other news, the spring appeal letters have been sent out!  Roughly 3,000 letters to raise support for Luther Crest!  Very exciting.

Also, this just in!  Karl and I have decided to start a freestyle prayer and praise worship every Tuesday morning at 8:30am in Circle Chapel C !!  There is no official order planned, just come and worship the King!

The song I would like to share with you this week comes out of our camp songbook.  It’s called Father Grant.  This is my favorite song we sing at camp!

Father Grant

Father grant, that what we sing with our lips,

We may believe in our hearts.

And what we believe in our hearts

We may show forth in our lives

Through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Let this be our prayer when we sing to God.  I always struggle when I am in worship and reading the words as I sing.  Do I really believe what I am singing?  Am I just going through the motions? And not only that, if I truly believe what I am singing, does my life reflect that?  In all that we do, may we do it because it is Christ living in us.
